Nature Magnified

A photography exhibition at the Columbus Botanical Garden

Exhibit Dates: March 13th - April 30th, 2026

Submission Deadline: January 30th

"Nature Magnified" invites photographers to explore the natural world through a closer lens and capture the fine details, hidden patterns, and overlooked wonders that surround us every day.

In an age where technology often distracts us from nature, this show asks: What if it could help us see more clearly? Whether through macro photography, digital enhancement, or simply mindful observation, "Nature Magnified" celebrates how photography can reveal the extraordinary in the ordinary, the delicate veins of a leaf, the iridescent scales of a butterfly, the symmetry of seed pods, the textures of bark and lichen and so much more.

This exhibition challenges photographers to slow down, look deeper, and showcase the beauty that often escapes the naked eye. It’s not just about zooming in,  it’s about revealing complexity, intimacy, and connection.

Submissions may include:

  • Macro or close-up photography

  • Digitally enhanced or color-edited images that highlight structure or form

  • Abstracts found in nature: patterns, textures, or symmetry

  • Wildlife portraits that focus on detail (feathers, fur, eyes, wings, etc.)

  • Creative compositions that challenge our usual perspective

We encourage work that reflects the intersection of technology and natural observation, showing how modern tools, from smartphones to drones to digital apps, can help us reconnect with the Earth on a more intimate level.
