Volunteer Recognition Program
At Columbus Botanical Garden (CBG), we deeply value the contributions of our volunteers, whose dedication and hard work help us thrive and fulfill our mission. To show our appreciation and recognize the commitment of our volunteers, we have established the CBG Volunteer Recognition Program. This program rewards volunteers with various incentives based on their accumulated volunteer hours.


Seedling Level
The "Seedling Level" is all about kicking off a volunteer’s journey at Columbus Botanical Garden. Just like a new sprout popping up from the soil, volunteers at this stage are starting to explore and get involved. It’s a time to dive in, discover what the garden has to offer, and start building a solid foundation for future
growth and impact.
Upon reaching 50 volunteer hours, receive a custom water bottle from CBG

Blossom Level
The "Blossom Level" represents the exciting stage when volunteers hit 100 hours at Columbus Botanical Garden. Just like a flower moving from a bud to full bloom, these volunteers are recognized for their growing dedication and impact. It’s all about celebrating their progress and the difference they’re making in the garden and the community.

Garden Guardian Level
The "Garden Guardian Level" is all about recognizing the amazing volunteers who’ve put in over 200 hours at Columbus Botanical Garden. It’s like being a true garden superhero, taking on extra responsibility and showing major dedication. These volunteers are celebrated for their hard work in keeping the garden beautiful, sustainable, and thriving through their ongoing efforts.

Arboreal Ambassador Level
The "Arboreal Ambassador Level" is all about capturing the idea of a strong, tall tree that stands firm and deeply rooted. At Columbus Botanical Garden, when volunteers hit the 300 hour mark, they earn the "Arboreal Ambassador" title. This means they’ve become key members of the CBG community, showing dedication and making a big impact. Just like an ambassador represents their organization with pride, these volunteers are valued representatives of CBG, helping to support and spread the garden’s mission far and wide.

When is the garden open?We are open Tuesday - Sunday from 9am to 5pm with last entry at 4pm. Hours vary seasonally.

Where should I park?You can park anywhere in the Garden parking lot. Please do not park in the church parking lot across the street.

When is the best time to visit?The garden is beautiful year-round! Our Camellias are in bloom January-March, Roses are putting on a show from April-October, our Vegetable Garden is vibrant all twelve months, annual displays are changed twice a year, and our flowering trees, shrubs and perennials are showstoppers from March-November!

What does it cost to visit?General Admission to the Garden is $12.00 for Adults. $8 for ages 2-17. Ages 1 and under are free. Members always enter FREE - Learn more about Memberships

Is the Garden accessible to wheelchairs?Our Cottage Garden and Farmhouse are wheelchair accessible, as is our Rose Garden, and the Perennial and Gingko Shade Gardens. As we develop more of the gardens, we will be upgrading areas so that we can be accessible in most of the garden.

Are there restroom facilities?Restrooms can be found outside adjacent to the farmhouse and are are open from 9am to 5pm.

Can I bring my dog?Dogs are welcome on the JoAnn Holt Walking Trail on non-retractable leashes no longer than six feet. Dogs are not allowed in any other part of the botanical garden. Please make sure to clean up after your dog.

Do you have a gift shop?Gifts are available at our ticket booth and our online shop.

Is there someplace to eat?Although there is no food available for purchase at the garden, we are close to Columbus Park Crossing, where you can find a variety of restaurants on Whittlesey Blvd.

COVID-19Be advised, outdoor amenities such as benches, handrails, etc. are not sanitized and may pose a risk for transmitting the COVID – 19 virus, so please use caution and follow CDC health and safety guidelines. We encourage the use of social distancing protocols when interacting with other guests not in your group. We do not require masks for fully vacinated individuals, however kindly request you continue to wear a mask when interacting with others if you are not fully vaccinanted. We will continue to follow the CDC guidelines, and so these protocols may change if required by new CDC guidelines.
